SALEM COUNTY VO TECH STUDENT WINS SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

SALEM -- Salem County Freeholder Director Dave Sparks announced today that Salem County Vocational Technical student Jeffrey Bowling of Pilesgrove is the winner of the New Jersey Association of Counties Foundation Scholarship Award.

The $500 Vocational-Technical Partners Scholarship Award is given to outstanding vocational-technical students in each of New Jersey's 21 counties who plan to continue career studies at a county community college.

"We are proud of Jeffrey. Because of his hard work, he was selected from 148 students in his class at Salem County Vo-Tech. He volunteers daily at Woodstown's Reliance Fire Company, assisting with maintenance, recordkeeping, and responding to alarms", said Sparks. "The NJAC scholarship will help him pursue a career in emergency services and criminal justice studies at Salem Community College."

"Our vocational-technical schools offer superb technical training, and our community college offers a solid academic education," said Sparks. "The County vocational-technical school helps students and adults move forward with their professional training."

Jeffrey Bowling will be recognized at the Salem County Board of Chosen Freeholders meeting being held in the Freeholder Meeting Room, First Floor, New Court House, 92 Market Street, Salem, NJ on June 19, 2002 at 7:30 P.M.
